Business Tax Preparation

This page outlines the documents you need to provide at tax time. Many requirements are new, updated, or significantly different from prior years, so reviewing this list carefully will help avoid delays and ensure accurate filing.

Business Tax Return Preparation: What to Send Us

Please submit tax documents to us:

Dropbox: Please contact us and we'll send you a secure Dropbox link.

To prepare and file your corporation or LLC tax return efficiently, please upload/send the items below as soon as you have them ready.

​

1) Your bookkeeping file (preferred)

  • QuickBooks file (if available)

  • If you use QuickBooks online, please add Andrew@GardnerEA.com as your accountant, then email us to let us know you're ready for us to hop in and pull the reports.

​

2) If you don’t have a QuickBooks file, send these reports instead.  Typically, most clients are cash basis accounting filers, so please send the reports in Cash Basis, not Accrual.

  • Profit & Loss (P&L)

  • Balance Sheet

  • General Ledger

​

3) Payroll documents

  • Copies of all W-2s issued to employees and officers

​

4) Owner and business contact information (please confirm these are current)

  • Mailing address for each shareholder / LLC member

  • Company business address, mailing address, email, and phone number

​

5) 1099 preparation (only if you want us to file them)

  • W-9s for vendors

  • The amount paid to each vendor that should be reported on a 1099

​

Timing reminder

Tax season gets extremely busy from the last week of January through the end of April. If your information is ready, please send it to us as soon as possible so we can get your return prepared on time.
