How to Make FTB Business
Tax Payments Online

What You’ll Need

  • LLC/Corporation’s Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)

  • California LLC/Corporation Number or SOS file number

  • Bank account details (routing and account number) for ACH payment (Web Pay)

  • Estimated tax amount and due dates from Form 100-ES

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Go to the FTB Website

  • Visit ftb.ca.gov

  • Click on "Pay" > "Overview"at the top

  • Click "Bank Account" or "Credit card" > then check the Business tab.

  • Under the "Businesses" section, click “Web Pay business”

  • Or go directly to: ftb.ca.gov/pay

2. Select Entity Type

  • Choose "LLC" or "Corporation" when prompted, then enter your "Entity ID".  This is NOT your federal ID number, but rather the state corporate or LLC number. You can find this on your State corporate tax return or you can look it up at https://bizfileonline.sos.ca.gov/search/business.

3. Select Tax Form and Payment Type

  • This option ensures the payment is applied correctly. (Most corps use Form 100, or 100-S.  Most LLC's use Form 568)

  • Payment types

    • Taxes due with your tax return from last year, choose Original Return Payment.

    • Taxes you are paying for the current year (For example the $800 annual tax due each year, choose Estimated Tax)

    • Taxes you are paying because you received a bill or notice from FTB, choose "Bill Payment"

    • PTE Tax your accountant has instructed you to pay, choose "Pass-Through Entity Elective Tax".

4. Period Dates

  • Typically this is January 1 through December 31st, unless you are a FISCAL YEAR filer.  If you file your tax return at the normal time every year, you are almost certainly a calendar year filer (1-1-XX through 12-31-XX).

5. Enter Payment Details

  • Input the payment amount (based on your Form 100-ES installment)

  • Choose whether to make the payment today or schedule it for a future date

  • Enter your bank account routing and account numbers (checking or savings)

  • Review all details carefully

6. Submit Payment

  • Confirm all entries: amount, account, business info, and payment date

  • Click "Submit"

  • You’ll receive a confirmation page—print or save this for your records

7. Verify and Track the Payment

  • Check your bank statement to confirm withdrawal in 2–3 business days

  • If you have a MyFTB business account, you can log in to view scheduled and completed payments

Additional Notes

  • Payment due dates for calendar-year corporations are generally April 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15

  • If total tax due is $20,000+ or total liability is $80,000+, future payments may need to be made via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) instead of Web Pay

  • Credit card payments are available but include a processing fee.
