Tax Changes – What to Provide at Tax Time

Due to recent tax law changes, additional documentation may be required this year. Some of these items were not needed in prior years, so please review carefully.

Newborns (New in 2025)

  • If you had a newborn child, please provide the child’s Social Security card.

  • A new federally supported baby savings account may be initiated with your tax return, and the Social Security number is required.

Overtime Pay

  • If you worked overtime in 2025, review your W-2 carefully.

  • Some employers do not separately list overtime premiums on the W-2.

  • If overtime is not clearly shown, please provide:

    • Your final pay stub of the year showing year-to-date overtime premiums, or

    • A written statement from your employer confirming total overtime premiums paid in 2025.

Vehicle Purchases (Interest Deduction Review)

  • If you purchased a new vehicle, please provide the purchase agreement.

  • The agreement must clearly show the VIN.

  • We are required to verify the VIN to determine whether the vehicle qualifies for a vehicle loan interest deduction.

Tips and Gratuities

  • If you work in an industry that earns tips, review your W-2 to confirm tips are included.

  • If tips are not fully reflected on the W-2, please provide:

    • A pay stub, tip log, or

    • Other written documentation showing your year-to-date tips received in 2025.
